Council of the European Union
As the European Union turned 60 this year, a dark cloud of growing uncertainty over the Union's future has overshadowed this anniversary. The effects of the refugee crisis, populism, Brexit, economic downturns, and distrust of government officials and institutions have all placed the EU under intense scrutiny. In light of this, the Council of the EU is determined to preserve the very fabric that has once united 28 European states. As leaders of these countries and representatives of European institutions, we will have to put our minds together and work towards actionable solutions. Each of us may represent different ideologies, backgrounds, and interests, but at the end of this day, we are all European and stand stronger united than alone in this volatile world.
