Liam Chelkowski

Secretary-General

Liam is the Secretary-General for CIAC XVII. A senior studying Chemical Engineering with a minor in Business, he has always had a passion for Model UN — joining in his freshman year of high school and taking on various roles ever since. He is excited to support the rest of the team in hosting CIAC XVII. Outside of Model UN, Liam is involved in the Cornell Undergraduate Research Board and Social Business Consulting. He looks forward to welcoming everyone in October and hopes each delegate has the best conference experience possible.

Jemma Hendricks

Director-General

Jemma is the Director-General for CIAC XVII. She is a junior studying Human Development, with minors in Law & Society and Environment & Sustainability. Jemma has been involved with Model UN since her sophomore year of high school, where she discovered both a passion for competing in and organizing conferences. Outside of Model UN, Jemma is the VP of Member Experience for her sorority, a member of the Club Field Hockey team, and an ambassador for the College of Human Ecology; in her free time, she loves building puzzles and hanging out at her favorite coffee spot on campus. Jemma is excited to welcome everyone and ensure that each delegate has a successful conference at CIAC in October!

Jingzhuo Zhang

chief of staff

Jing is the Chief of Staff for CIAC XVII. She’s a senior majoring in Industrial Labor Relations with a minor in Data Science. She has been involved in Model UN since freshman year of high school, gaining valuable experience through competing in various conferences and serving in leadership roles. Outside of MUN, Jing is involved with the Social Enterprise Group of Cornell and enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and cafes, and playing board games. She is excited to help plan CIAC and make it a memorable experience for everyone!

Mike Arreaga

director of public relations and outreach

Mike is excited to serve as your Director of Public Relations and Outreach at CIAC XVII! He is a sophomore studying Government and minoring in Law & Society on the pre-law track. Besides CIAC, Mike is involved in the Cornell University Parole Initiative, the Cornell University Diversity Admissions Ambassadors, the Association of Latino Professionals for America, and he also works as a campus tour guide! Mike developed a passion for MUN in high school and aims to spread that passion to others through his involvement in CIAC. He hopes everyone has an incredible experience and walks away having had fun at CIAC XVII!

Mei Reed

director of operations

Mei will be serving as your Director of Operations for CIAC XVII. She is a sophomore studying Chemistry and Chinese at Cornell, and also serves as the Vice President of Membership for Cornell's Model UN club. She has been active within Model UN since high school, and is so excited to continue her experience into helping host CIAC! Outside of MUN, Mei is a member of the club rowing team and the political union on campus.

Owen Yan

director of events

Owen is the Director of Events for CIAC XVII. A sophomore studying Human Biology, he is passionate about Model UN and committed to further expanding the experience of CIAC. Outside of Model UN, Owen is involved in undergraduate research and church. He's looking forward to meeting everyone in October and making this year's events as enjoyable and memorable for every delegate.

Caroline Cheng

under Secretary-General

Caroline is an Under Secretary-General for CIAC XVII. She is a senior studying Computer Science, minoring in Business, Data Science, and Law & Society. Caroline has taken part in Model UN throughout high school as well as at Cornell. In addition to MUN, she is involved in the Association of Computer Science Undergraduates and enjoys drawing, swimming, and exploring the beautiful nature in Ithaca. Caroline looks forward to delegates experiencing the interesting and exciting committees!

Julia Moss

under Secretary-General

Julia Moss is excited to serve as an Under Secretary-General for CIAC XVII. She is a sophomore studying Public Policy in the Brooks School with a minor in Demography. Julia joined Model UN in her freshman year of high school and has enjoyed participating as a delegate and running conferences. Outside of Model UN, Julia enjoys volunteering with Big Red Buddies, trying new restaurants in Ithaca, and hanging out with friends. She looks forward to welcoming everyone to CIAC XVII in October!

Leo Shi

under Secretary-General

Leo is a sophomore from Mayfield Heights, Ohio majoring in Government and minoring in English and Law. Beside CIAC and Cornell International Affairs Society, Leo is part of the Cornell Speech and Debate team, Cornell University Parole Initiative and Project Level the Field. In his free time, Leo enjoys writing poetry, binging TV shows, playing board games, and hunting for Boba. He wishes everyone a fun and fruitful conference experience!
